Seminar Facilities at the CANSA Science and Resource Centre
The CANSA Science & Resource Centre, located at the foot of Devil’s Peak, is a peaceful refuge from the hustle and bustle of Cape Town. The Centre is dedicated first and foremost to the needs of people living with cancer, but offers the public at large use of its Seminar Facilities.

The two available rooms are ideal for workshops, functions, courses and meetings and are suitable for small to medium-size groups. Download a CSRCentre floor plan diagram and a CSRCentre seating diagram. It has a spacious lobby and access to an inner courtyard and adjacent kitchen. Audiovisual aids are available on request. Facilitators are welcome to discuss their requirements with Alice Victor as several options are available.
The following equipment is available:
- White board; data projector and flipchart.
- Groups utilising the facility must provide their own paper, pens and whiteboard markers.
Groups have to organise their own catering. Tea and coffee is not included in the facility’s hiring fee. The following kitchen equipment is available for use:
- Hot tray
- Serving dishes
Bookings of the Seminar Facilites are essential and are subject to availability and at the discretion of CANSA. Please contact Alice Victor in this regard, see details below.

Booking Fee and Payment
The fees and terms apply to bookings for the Seminar Room:
- R200 per hour
- R80 per hour for the data projector
For those wanting to rent the Seminar Facility for a number of days or weeks, a daily fee can be negotiated. A deposit of 60% of the full hiring fee is payable on the first day of a confirmed booking. Confirmation of bookings and invoices are sent out in advance of the event. A direct deposit can be made to ABSA Bank, Account: CANSA Research, number: 4079965964, Branch: 632005, reference CANSA Science & Resource Centre, Seminar Facilities. Please fax proof of payment to 0865 128 604.
