CANSA is joining forces with kidney cancer organisations around the world to mark the first-ever World Kidney Cancer Q & A Day. World Kidney Cancer Q & A Day has been established by the International Kidney Cancer Coalition of which CANSA is an affiliate member. CANSA was part of the establishment of World Kidney Cancer Day through Prof Michael Herbst, CANSA’s Health Specialist who is a Board Member and Director.

Says Katherine, “Melanomas can look like any lump or bump, so that is why it is so important to know our bodies and watch for changes. You should do a skin self-examination every few weeks. Most importantly, this is why EVERYONE should have an annual skin check by a dermatologist.”

Myra is a CANSA Volunteer and visits cancer patients at their homes, offering them support. Says Myra, “I explain to them that I also had cancer and that they are not alone on this road.” She urges anyone who detects a problem with their breasts to get tested. Not everyone may have the patience to sit at the day hospital all day, she concedes, but that one day could save their life. Read more…
