World Cancer Day Celebrations – CANSA Durban
World Cancer Day (4 February 2015) kicked off to a great start with our staff being afforded the opportunity to raise awareness on radio & TV: our very own Busi Mbatha being interviewed by Gagasi FM 99.5 and Marlene Pretorius being interviewed by SABC reporter Blain Howard. The interview was aired on Channel 404 News. Marlene was also interviewed by SABC Radio & Nadia Baderoon-Ball by Lotus FM.
A talk re World Cancer Day & reducing cancer risk was also conducted at SRF Flexipak – Cato Ridge for staff and Directors imparting crucial information to the staff. Many staff showed an interest in becoming volunteers for our CANSA Durban Care Centre.
World Cancer Day 2015 ended on a high note with the official book launch “Breaking Barriers Against Cancer” at the Durban City Hall. The book was written by our very own cancer Survivor & Volunteer, Brian Jayanathan.
Linda Cipolla had the most wonderful opportunity to have a photo shoot with Chad le Clos and his family on North Beach Durban in aid of our Annual Daredevil Run 2015.
We want to thank each and every person, Volunteer, cancer Survivor & media contact that supported us during World Cancer Day.
Let’s all stand together and know that cancer is “NOT BEYOND US”!
