Road Lodge Tea and Coffee Drinkers Boost Cancer Fight
The fight against cancer has received a tidy shot in the arm from coffee and tea drinkers at Road Lodge hotels around the country – R199 600, to be exact.
Here’s how the Cuppa for CANSA programme works: every time a guest staying at a Road Lodge hotel buys a cup of tea or coffee, the City Lodge Hotel Group reserves a donation from the purchase price. Once a year, a total amount of all the reserved donations is donated to the Cancer Association of South Africa towards their cancer-fighting work across the provinces.

Over R1,77 million has been donated by the City Lodge Hotel Group since 2003. Back in 2003, the annual donation was R62,300 and it has now shot up to R199 600 for the period July 1, 205 to June 30, 2016, collected from 21 Road Lodge hotels around the country.
CANSA’s Munnik Marais said this year’s donation will go towards funding its 14 cancer care lodges and TLC lodges around the country which assist children and adults when they have been diagnosed with cancer.
