CANSA is excited and proud to partner with Greenlyn Village Centre to celebrate CANSA’s 85th anniversary of fighting cancer!
As part of the drive to share this significant achievement, CANSA is dedicating the month of August to profile CANSA, its service and milestones. This includes a range of activities and events taking place at the Greenlyn Village Centre and Brooklyn Theatre in August 2016.
Hope Art Exhibit 28 July 2016 to 28 August 2016
As part of its 85th anniversary of fighting cancer, CANSA is hosting an Art Exhibition at the Brooklyn Theatre, opening taking place on Thursday 28 July at 18:00 and will be open for viewing until 28 August. The Hope Art Exhibition gives local South African artists the platform to showcase their work, while still contributing to a worthy cause. CANSA receives 20% of all art sales, which will go towards providing health awareness materials and early detection programmes in the local communities. The exhibition will be made up of works from well-known, as well as up and coming artists, such as Adriaan Diedericks, Marthinus Höll, Magriet van Loggerenberg, Munnik Marais, Michael Heyns, Minette van Rooyen, Floris van Zyl and Saskia Thom.
Woman’s Day Celebration 9 August 2016 in Partnership with Brooklyn Theatre
CANSA is celebrating Women’s Day by providing cancer screening for all the ladies during the launch of the Afrikaans DVD – ‘Pieter en die Wolf’. Free Clinical Breast Examinations and Healthy Lifestyle Risk assessments will be on offer from 10:00 to 13:00. Bring your kids and come and meet Toktokkie.
Johan Botha International Tenor 18 August 2016 Brooklyn Theatre 19:00
CANSA is proud to be part of the amazing tenor, Johan Botha’s South African tour. After being diagnosed with cancer just over a year ago, Johan Botha has been given a clean bill of health by his doctors and is celebrating life by returning home to perform in a serious of concerts. He is delighted to be healthy and survived cancer and giving these special homecoming concerts in aid of CANSA’s 11 Care Homes. Get your tickets at Brooklyn Theatre for 18 August in Pretoria.
CANSA stand at Greenlyn Village Centre every Saturday in August 2016 (Starting 6 August 2016)
Show your support for CANSA’s 85th anniversary and visit the CANSA stand each Saturday in August. CANSA is selling limited edition mugs, CANSA Wraps, Relate bracelets, keyrings and Lush pink hair extensions as well as providing cancer education information to help lower your cancer risk.
You can take part in the ‘Paint by Numbers’ canvas project – make a small donation, paint your bit of canvas and we’ll be auctioning off the masterpiece at the end of the month.
