Inge Newport hosts a Spring Pick Nick Cuppa For CANSA
Inge Newport from the Cake Cartel hosted a Spring Pick Nick Cuppa for CANSA to perfection!
Incredible Ideas originate with incredible people, such as Inge Newport! Against all odds and far removed from the traditional tea-party Cuppa, Inge Newport from The Cake Cartel in Pretoria decided to, out of her own and by only hearing of the national Cuppa for CANSA project, to not only launch this fantastic project but also to execute it with such precision! Meeting Inge for the first time, I thought that she was a regular Cuppa Host, only realising that this was her first ever such effort! And what an accomplishment. Right from the start, she knew what she wanted, stepped in there, created her volunteer group and to precision, organised and executed a Cuppa for CANSA WITH A DIFFERENCE. The venue owners of Willow Feather Farm, as part of their donation, offered the venue free of charge to Inge.
Guests only had to pay as little as R20 entrance free and each entrance packaged included wonderful makeovers by sponsors. The healthy beverages at the entrance was just a mere indication of what was to be discovered next…
The beautiful surroundings, green pastures, beautiful small garden corners all over the nursery, precisely fitted into the theme, inviting guests with pretty cottage style blankets and pillows all over the place. Inge’s whole idea was a wonderful family-friendly Cuppa providing enough time out for all to enjoy! And boy, was this an enjoyable Cuppa!
One was astonished at the array of quality prizes available and the fundraising idea was truly unique! Inge decided on sponsored prizes that was worth well over R50 000 and tickets per price was R20. The quality prizes available, truly was beautiful on the eye and therefore one could easily enjoy buying tickets. Another interesting approach was the time setting, hosted from 11:00 to 15:00 at which only the lucky draw took place. This provided way enough time for all to enjoy much needed family- and friend time!
Healthy pick nick baskets and beverages were available from Willow Feather and there were little stalls to quench the draught and ease the hunger pains. The cold morning chills was quickly heated up by a very generous sponsor who sponsored bottomless coffee for the whole of the day!
Even the little ones were entertained by a sponsored colour competition and as soon as that energy was worked off, they were off enjoying the wonderful touch farm!
This Cuppa for CANSA was truly unique, an event that will truly be duplicated in years to come and many thanks to a very special, unique host who felt the heart beat of Cuppa for CANSA and ran with this project! We at CANSA Gauteng North cannot wait until next year! This is again promising a unique project by an outstanding host!
