Go the distance at the Comrades for CANSA
CANSA will be Active at the Comrades Marathon this year!
Sunday, Sunday, 1 June 2014 in Pietermaritzburg
Participants have entered the Comrades Marathon and chose CANSA as their charity they will be running for. They are mobilising their own family, friends, colleagues and community to donate funds towards sponsoring their participation – funds raised will go directly to CANSA.
We wish to thank all the runners who ran for CANSA in 2013:
Eric who is doing this for his friend: running Comrades Ultra Marathon 2013 for Cancer Research – “My desire to run for cancer awareness evolved in October 2012 when a dear friend of mine was fighting cancer and underwent serious surgery after unsuccessful chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Unfortunately, she did not make it and lost the fight to cancer in January 2013.”
Sharon who is feeling compelled to make her second Comrades Marathon count for more than athletic commitment. “This year my Comrades up run will be a salute to you my amazing friend Fiona for your courage, your steady and determined approach to tackling life’s hurdles and our collective belief in the triumph of the human spirit.”
Beverley who will be attempting to run Comrades marathon for the first time. She will do this on the eve of Lissa Dixon Olsen’s passing four years ago. Beverley is going to try also for those of us who have someone close who had been affected by cancer.
