Counselling of individuals or families is done face-to-face or telephonically. It enables patients and family members to share concerns and helps them cope with the emotions and changed dynamics resulting from a cancer diagnosis.

CANSA has established many active support groups to provide a broad base of support to individuals living with cancer, and also to their families. This support is created through being part of a caring group, and through the understanding, hope, comfort, friendship and companionship that patients are able to share with other individuals in similar situations.

CANSA runs the Tough Living with Cancer (TLC) project in Gauteng and Polokwane to significantly reduce the impact of cancer on children and their families in the community.

CANSA's sister organisation, Reach for Recovery is a breast cancer support group providing much needed support. Click here to find a representative in your area.
