Become a Volunteer

Volunteer Thank you

CANSA’s Chairperson – Appreciation of Volunteers

Volunteer Thank youWhen I think of volunteers I think of people giving up their time, in order to serve the needs of others. In our lives, one thing we cannot buy is time and we have a limited amount of time for our family, interests and even ourselves. For that reason, an individual’s time is very precious. When someone chooses to use their time being a volunteer to support an activity benefiting others, it is a special gift to any organisation.

It’s International Volunteers Day today, 5 December 2013, and we’d like thank you, our leader volunteers that serve on our Business Unit Councils, Regional Management and Liaison Committees. Thank you for your time in helping the fight against cancer. Thank you for offering your talents and commitment so that CANSA can continue providing care and support to those affected by cancer.

We know that CANSA needs many more helping hands to extend their service in the community. And we appreciate your dedication and support. We wish you well in whatever activities, projects or programmes you take on, especially in support of CANSA. Today is a day to remind all of you just how much we appreciate you. It is my honour, on behalf of the staff and Board of Directors, to express our gratitude to all CANSA volunteers and to give special recognition you – the individuals who inspire us.
