CANSA Eikehof Care Home
CANSA Eikehof Care Home offers a warm stay for our patients and their care-givers in well equipped, comfortable bedrooms and they have access to a secure garden setting or can relax in our lounge.
The dedicated staff members provide meals and transport to and from treatment centres, as well as emotional support and recreational activities.
Peace of mind is one of the most important support structures for patients far away from their natural support system during the duration of treatment, which could take up to six or eight weeks. The peace of mind CANSA Eikehof Care Home provides to our patients adds to the peace of mind of their family members. They can rest assured that their loved ones are cared for, physically and emotionally, in such a great environment.
Thando describes his stay:
Thando, a 28 year old male cancer Survivor diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, has been residing at CANSA Eikehof Care Home since February 2015. Says Thando:
“The welcome when I came here was very warm. Since I’ve been here, we’ve become one family with the other patients. Staff are looking after us well and making healthy food for us to eat. If I was at my cousin’s house I’d be looking after myself. The staff look after us. They are here for support, talk to you and encourage you to take your medicine on time. Activities that we’re doing here like exercise, playing games and talking to social workers, is also helpful.”
