CANSA CEO Thanks Volunteers
Dear CANSA Family
Today is International Volunteers Day and CANSA wants to pay tribute and give special thanks to you, our CANSA volunteers as one of our most valuable and appreciated resources. International Volunteers Day was designated by the United Nations in 1985 as an international observance day to celebrate the power and potential of volunteerism.
In choosing CANSA as your ‘volunteer’ family, you are the gateway towards us achieving success and helping to make a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer. More than 60% of our contracted volunteers are dedicated to helping our CANSA staff with care and support programmes, as well as promoting healthy living.
We further appreciate the balance of volunteers that help us reach sustainability, including the 2 800 leader volunteers that form part of our governance structures within the Business Units and Head Office, contributing their skills and time.
Thank you for taking hands with CANSA in the fight against cancer – together we can and will make a difference!
