CANSA Active gearing up for Cape Argus Pick n Pay Momentum Cycle Tour
The Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) and its CANSA Active programme are gearing up for the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Momentum Cycle Tour on 9 March 2014. This 109km cycle race has been around for almost 40 years, and CANSA is proud to be one of the main beneficiaries this year.
CANSA Active aims to raise awareness about leading a balanced lifestyle, playing sport safely in the sun as well as providing education on being cancer-aware by encouraging smart choices with regards to diet and lifestyle. The CANSA Active programme gives cyclists the opportunity to participate in their favourite sporting activity or race, while raising funds online to support CANSA’s care and support to those affected by cancer.
For the 2014 Cape Argus Pick n Pay Momentum Cycle Tour, CANSA Active has 108 cyclists who aim to have feel good fun, while riding for a cause, raising awareness and funds. They’ll be wearing special CANSA Active cycle gear including a CANSA Wrap.
The start of the Tour is in the Cape Town city centre, outside the Civic Centre, then travels along the M3 to Lakeside where it will join Main Road which will go through Muizenberg, Kalk Bay and Fish Hoek. From there it takes the coastal road to Simonstown and then past the entrance to the Cape Point Nature Reserve. The trail then continues to Scarborough and on to Oceanview, after which it’s Chapman’s Peak and up Suikerbossie and along the coast to Greenpoint.
“CANSA Active is a great way to get involved in any sports event – we want to make every ride a CANSA Active ride. We wish all our riders the best of luck and thank them for taking part and helping to raised valuable funds to fight cancer. See you all at the finish line!”
“Come and visit our CANSA Active stand at the Cape Argus Lifecycle Expo from 6 – 8 March 2014. All CANSA Active gear will be available.”
CANSA is very thankful to Action Motor Group, Krugersdorp, who is sponsoring a Ford branded vehicle to assist us in transporting gear, etc.
